RESPECT!!!
the very first thing you learn at home!!!
the best thing anyone could get from another!!!
pwede na ngang pangregalo yan diba???
is it not????
nung poklat ako, kahit hindi ko gusto mga pinapagawa sakin ng mga upperclass ko, i still respect them...
naisip ko lng kasi na they are not my upperclassmen for nothin'...
parehas sa barko... kahit tatangatanga mga superiors mo or talagang wala sa ayos, you should always put yourself in the bitter end of obedience......diba???
sige na nga sasabihin ko na... magagaling lng siguro talaga mga taga maap kaya minsan tingin natin eh bulok yung iba... but wait... isipin nyo din... they're not in their ranks for nothing... the least you could give them is respect...
kaya yung mga walang respeto jan and yung tanggap lng ng tanggap sa changes... you better look back!!!

Re: RESPECT!!!
isa din somar is we should also learn to respect yung mga under natin, (underclass, ratings or junior officers) pero syempre bago nila makuha ang respect ng senior nila...eh ipakita nila na karapat dapat ba sila irespeto....correct me if i am wrong...respect is earned not gained???

Re: RESPECT!!!
sa respeto, well, di ako masyado magaling diyan. praktis ko lang sa barko is to address everyone as sir... as in. parang dre, pinalitan ko ng dre. lalo na pag may junior na kasama. minsan nga eh taboo kasi nakakatawa na ako eh nagsi-sir sa 08. pero okay naman ang result hindi naiinfuriate mga dane na pinoy tawag ir tapos sa kanila first name lang. he he he!!!
pero, when it comes to respect, first we have to respect ourselves, then those higher than us and then yung lower than us. from there masyado na malawak tatakbuhin nun.

wait lng tayo dadating din yan,,,,,, makisama lng ng mayus at wag kaka limutan,,,
tagay muna hahahahahaha

respect is being true to your self... pwede ba yan..?

Re: RESPECT!!!
Hmm as far as I have studied sir, It is normal for us to see and it is good for us to believe that whenever a higher authority orders us something eh we would follow their orders agad. Pero as psychology is concerned there is a possibility of a clout of doubt when following this orders. Deep within ourselves if we know that it is wrong we would simply say na tsaka na natin babaguhin yun pagnandun na tayo. That would be a good idea pero right now in the modern period where lahat ng seafarers who go onboard went to college eh it is presumed that new ways of approaching seniority is considered. And in fact, many of us have encountered people in the management level who wanted their ideas be challenged. This are those who have an open mind. hehehe In short sir, may mga ways na naman po to approach higher ups before we simply do things. It is okay to understand na isipin natin na mas experienced sila kaysa sa lower level pero according to other studies people who were instructed that a certain wall is colored white and yung ibang nagsiguro kung white ba talaga yun proved to be in the top post of different companies like now yung CEO ng shell group of companies unlike those who simply listened who ended up most in mid level managment. Kaya for me it is okay to express our own techniques basta nasa tamang approach....
Regarding dun sa topic po natin dux eh respect transcends all levels. It must be given and never gained. Luma na yung respect begets respect kasabayan pa yun nung quote na an eye for an eye a tooth for a tooth. Kaya as modern, educated and civilized person we must learn to respect even the people who doesn't deserve a bit of it. We might be mere humans but remember we are all made in HIS own image and likeness...
Fair winds, Clear skies and Following seas...

respect
According to a Senior and friend, respect should always be given to all people. Unless they prove otherwise.
following seas to all.
following seas to all.
hhhhmmmmmm...
agree po ako... respect starts within ourselves...
make sure na we are respectable para yung ibang tao eh ire-respeto tayo... hehehe!
wag respetong pakitang-tao ha..
ung tunay at bukal sa loob...
never expect them to respect us in return though, kc it is given.. not asked... at lalong hindi pinupwersa ang iba para respetuhin tyo..
it is not by rank, by power or level of intelligence... but mostly dapat eh we are looking at the ethical side of things...
even animals deserves to be respected.. di po ba???

Re: RESPECT!!!
well for me respect is something that money cannot buy... it is free as long as you deserved it... as an upperclass this one is always in demand but mga ducs lets face the mirror first and ask your self " Am I respectable?" respect is the representation of your whole life.. the replica of what we have learned.....

Rule no. 1. the captain is always right.
Rule no. 2. when the captain is wrong, refer to rule no. 1
di ko alam kung applicable pa to sa modern seafarers or professionals or whatsoever, pro pra skin - YES..
Kung gusto mo baguhin, maging kapitan ka muna, and with RESPECT to the engine guys, be a chief engineer to rule the engine room..
basic rule, kung ano nakkita mong tama, tanggapin mo, pulutin mo at ipasok sa kokote mo..
ung mali, hayaan mo lng.. kung may chance ka sbihin sa superior in a nice way, then sbihin mo.. but sbi nga nila, kung may sasabihin kang mali sa sistema, dapat may suggestion ka or alternative solution..
kya cgro ung iba, hindi marunong rumespeto dhil hindi nga kresperespeto ang iba.. but back to the golden rule.. do not do to others what you do not want to do unto you..

1 & 2 na tinuturo sa atin dati. it is considered traditional type of leasdership na. most vessels and company as well, encourage their JO's as well as cadets to be assertive. assertive in a way to be constructive. na every person is capable to commit mistakes... even Captain's. That's why there should be an open communication on the Bridge. Tsaka it would start talaga sa pinakataas, kung si apat eh hindi approachable, hindi siya lalapitan and maiilang ang mga tao sa kanya.
On the other hand, I agree na i-absorb na lang yung tama and i-scrap yung mali pagdating sa turo ng more senior. Kung baga, i-process muna then scrap the sludge info nalang...

i dis agree with the captain/chf engr is always ryt kc kung s case n matanda n ung captain m at medyo ulyanin n u have to correct him if u know ur ryt but in a sensible way, ung my respeto p din ang tono...kc un experience now n kape2 ung tano nmin, ang 1 hour notice ginawang 1 day notice wc fine wth (ng einternet lng kc..hehe)....

Re: RESPECT!!!
at least we've gone along way sir/mam/dux in knowing what respect is all about though we may have different ideas we all have something in common. we know that at this generation respect is needed for each and everyone and hindi ito one way process lang na to the higher ups lang. Lets keep our focus and I know we would be doing something great for the industry in the future...
