SSO (Ship Security Officer's Course) - New STCW Requirement for Senior Officers

As per subject, SSO is now an STCW required training and not merely a company required training (for Senior Officers).

But SSO will only be recognized if an officer is issued with COP (Certificate of Proficiency).

unfortunately, wla p pong training center ang nagiissue ng COP for SSO nila..

so ang pwedeng pansamantagal na solution (hahhaa.. kasi according sa GM nmin bka hnd p well coordinated ung new procedure eh..) eh i-apply ng NAC ung SSO.. gets nyo po mga dux??

conclusion po kasi ng GM nmin.. if wla png training center ang nagi-issue.. meaning, hnd well informed ang PH Administration.. might as well, coordinate nlng rin with FAME skling wla pring mg-issue ng COP..

anyways, info info lng po here Smile

ei dux weng, ang pagkakaalam ko kasi, mga deck senior officers ang kumukuha ng SSO training kasi mostly chief officers ang nagiging security officer sa barko, so involved din ba dyan yung engine senior officers? kasama na din ba sa reqquirements for COC yan? tnx

You're right on that.. madalas C/O ang Security Officer so wala namang advise na required to sa Senior Engine Officers.. and so far naman poh, Senior Deck Officers pa lang ang sinisend namin for training for this course.

If there are any updates at all, either Ate Wheng or ako ang magpopost dito for everyone's info..Smile
